Locations & Floorplans
Organize your items by rooms, areas, and containers for easy tracking.
What Are Locations?
Locations represent the physical spaces in your property — rooms, closets, garages, outdoor areas, or even specific containers like a toolbox or storage bin. Every item can be assigned to a location so you always know where things are.
Creating Locations
Go to Locations → + Add Location. For each location, you can set:
- Name (required) — e.g., “Kitchen”, “Master Bedroom Closet”, “Garage”
- Description — any notes about the location
- Photo — upload a photo of the room or area
Locations can also be created on the fly when adding items — if you type a location name that doesn't exist yet, it can be created automatically during CSV import.
Browsing Locations
The locations page shows all your locations as cards with the location name, photo (if uploaded), and the number of items in each location.
Click any location to see all the items assigned to it. This is a great way to do a room-by-room inventory check.
Assigning Items to Locations
You can assign an item to a location in two ways:
- When creating an item — select the location from the dropdown on the new item form
- When editing an item — change the location field on any existing item
Items without a location show “No location” in their card. You can always add or change the location later.
Floorplans
You can upload a floorplan image for your property to visually see where your locations and items are. This is especially useful for larger properties or when you have many rooms to track.
Upload a floorplan from the locations page. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and PDF.
Location Limits
The number of locations depends on your plan:
- Free — 10 locations
- Home — 50 locations
- STR — Unlimited
